The electrical engineering industry covers a very broad range of products and systems associated with the distribution, routing, control and safe use of electrical power. These include modular and protective devices, cable management systems, building automation and electrical installation accessories.
A significant part of this market consists of products used in residential, office, commercial and industrial buildings. They combine a technical function with an increasing emphasis on design. This is particularly true of visible installation components such as sockets, switches, control panels, decorative frames, floor boxes and floor outlets.
The market includes international groups such as Schneider Electric, Legrand or Hager together with its Berker brand, as well as manufacturers strongly associated with particular European markets, including the German brands Gira and JUNG, the Italian companies Vimar and BTicino, and the Polish manufacturer Ospel. Their extensive product portfolios demonstrate how broad the range of products requiring presentation can be – from small decorative components to complete installation systems.
For manufacturers, this means presenting customers not only with the appearance of an individual product, but often also with differences between ranges, colour and material variants, product functionality and the relationships between individual components within a complete system.
Electrical engineering products vary considerably in terms of function, form and target audience. Designer switches and sockets intended for modern interiors require a different presentation approach from cable management systems, while protective equipment and technical solutions aimed at installers have yet another set of requirements.
One of the main challenges is presenting extensive ranges of small products in a clear and organised way. Individual switches, sockets, frames and installation components may differ in function, finish, colour or method of installation. During a sales meeting, customers should be able to quickly understand these differences and compare the available solutions.
For products where appearance plays an important role in the purchasing decision, customers need to be able to see the actual material, colour and surface texture. This applies, among other things, to ranges of flush-mounted electrical accessories, decorative frames and visible installation components.
For more technical solutions, the presentation should primarily demonstrate the structure of the system, its individual components and how they work together. Rather than presenting a single product, a salesperson may need to show several components forming one complete solution.
Mobility is also important. Sets used during visits to customers, architects, installers or business partners should be organised, protected and ready for presentation without the need to prepare the products on site.
For this reason, presentation solutions used in the electrical engineering industry can take many different forms. The choice depends on the nature of the products, the manufacturer’s visual identity, the sales process and the intended audience.
As a manufacturer of presentation cases and other B2B presentation solutions, we deliver projects for manufacturers of electrical installation accessories, cable management systems and electrical protection solutions.
Depending on the product, we create mobile sales kits, cases with foam, boxes, product displays and other solutions that organise sample components, protect them during transport and present them to customers in a format designed around the manufacturer’s sales concept.
Presentation cases are suitable both for small components such as sockets, switches and decorative frames and for more complex systems comprising trunking, floor boxes, outlets, cables or protective components.
The interior can be designed around a specific set of products. Custom foam inserts cut to the shape of individual components stabilise the products, organise the presentation and allow the complete set to be seen immediately when the case is opened.
The type of case, its colour, branding and internal arrangement can then be adapted to the character of the system and the manufacturer’s sales concept.
Soft presentation cases make it possible to create lightweight, mobile presentation kits sized specifically for a particular product group. Their shape, fabric colour, branding and internal organisation can all be individually designed.
For the German company Hager, one of Europe’s best-known manufacturers of power distribution, building automation, electrical installation accessories and cable management systems, we produced soft presentation cases for the BR range of installation trunking.
Because of Hager’s exceptionally broad product range, the company used several variants of presentation cases adapted to particular systems and to the number and type of components included in each kit.
Both examples used an elegant grey fabric, while the dimensions of the cases were adapted to the number and size of the products being presented. Individual components were placed in precisely cut foam inserts that organised the contents and kept each item securely in position during transport.
The first version made it possible to present a broad selection of trunking cross-sections and variants differing in size, construction and intended use. These included solutions developed for specialist applications, such as systems used in rail transport and trunking with specific fire-resistant properties. This allows the salesperson to demonstrate differences in construction and application directly, rather than explaining them solely on the basis of a catalogue.
The second version shows how the presentation of trunking itself can be complemented by sample electrical installation accessories, such as a socket. This approach was used in a case designed for Hager dado trunking systems. As a result, customers can see not only the cross-section and construction of the trunking, but also how the individual accessories combine to form a complete installation system.
A different approach was used for small sample cases with foam designed to present components from Hager’s underfloor electrical installation systems.
In this project, the products were distinguished not only by their technical function but also by their design. Floor boxes and outlets available in different colours, textures and finishes can form a visible part of a modern office or commercial interior, so the presentation needs to allow customers to assess their aesthetic qualities as well.
A compact case with a fitted foam insert makes it possible to display selected variants side by side and focus the customer’s attention on materials, colours and the quality of the finishes. A small number of carefully arranged products and precisely fitted foam cut-outs create an effect similar to an elegant jewellery box – each component has its own place and can be viewed as part of a deliberately designed collection.
This is a good example of an electrical product where the presentation needs to communicate both technical function and design. Modern offices are designed so that electrical installations remain fully functional while interfering as little as possible with the appearance of the space, without exposed cables or visually intrusive installation components. As a result, sockets, floor boxes and floor outlets increasingly need to complement the interior through their form, material and finish.
A custom plastic case works well in the electrical engineering sector for presenting installation accessories, complete product groups and compact technical systems. A foam insert can organise components by range or function, while additional panels, descriptions and graphics inside the case can help explain the structure of the product offering.
Interestingly, the same product category may require a completely different form of presentation depending on the range and intended audience.
For another Hager underfloor product set, a grey plastic case with a technical appearance was used. Inside were, among other components, products made from brushed steel.
In this project, the outer case, insert and products form a coherent technical presentation of the system. It also demonstrates that a manufacturer does not need to assign one type of case to an entire product category. The format can be selected individually for a particular range, sales process and style of presentation.
For the French branch of Schneider Electric, we produced plastic sample cases for several groups of electrical installation accessories.
The black cases were fully finished with graphics matching the visual identity of the product range. Inside were switches, isolators, sockets and decorative frames, together with components for surface-mounted, flush-mounted and trunking systems.
The products were placed in foam cut to their shape, while an additional printed plastic panel positioned above the insert visually organised the components and separated them into individual product groups.
As a result, the presentation case serves more than a transport function. Once opened, it becomes a ready-made, organised display that helps the salesperson explain the structure of the range and the differences between individual series.
The use of presentation cases in electrical engineering is not limited to sockets, switches or cable management systems.
The Polish company RST specialises in surge protection and earthing systems. Its range includes components designed to protect electrical installations and various technical systems.
For RST, we created a compact black demo plastic case with a custom foam insert. Cut-outs matched to the individual components organise the contents and keep the products securely in place during transport.
The technical character of the case matches the nature of the products, while contrasting branding remains clearly visible against the black shell. The kit allows selected system components to be taken directly to a customer meeting and presented in a structured, professional format.
Aluminium presentation cases work particularly well in projects where precise internal construction, the mounting of components on panels and the integration of additional presentation features are important. Depending on the project, an aluminium case can also become an interactive demo case, allowing the product not only to be displayed but also demonstrated in operation. These functions are not exclusive to aluminium cases – the final construction always depends on the product and the objectives of the individual project.
For the Polish company Ospel, a well-known manufacturer of electrical installation accessories, we created an interactive aluminium presentation case for the Touch range of flush-mounted accessories.
In this project, displaying the products was only one part of the presentation. The case was divided into several illuminated zones activated using different switches included in the display. This means that customers can not only see the individual accessories, their styling and finishes, but also directly test how they work. The interactive format makes the presentation more engaging and encourages the customer to participate in the product demonstration.
An additional feature is a dedicated display with an animation simulating the opening of a roller shutter after the appropriate button is pressed. This allows the function of a particular control to be demonstrated in the context of a real application without building a complete installation for every customer meeting.
The products were mounted on illuminated panels with marketing graphics. These organise the individual zones while also creating an attractive background for the accessories. The lighting further highlights selected elements and reinforces the visual character of the complete presentation.
The entire system was integrated into an elegant silver aluminium case with discreet external branding. The case also includes an external power connection for the demonstration system.
This is an example of a demonstration case that becomes a mobile demonstration station. During a single meeting, a salesperson can present the product design, allow the customer to operate the controls and demonstrate selected functions in action.
Cardboard presentation cases and boxes can be used in the electrical engineering industry as compact presentation sets, particularly when the aesthetic arrangement of several product variants and consistency with the brand’s visual identity are important.
For the renowned Italian brand Vimar, we produced a cardboard presentation case designed to display light switches and decorative frames.
The interior was created using a two-colour foam insert arranged around the individual components. This keeps the products clearly organised and immediately visible when the case is opened.
Custom presentation cases can be designed around more than just the external dimensions or the layout of the foam insert. Their construction can also incorporate features adapted to the salesperson’s specific way of working.
In some presentations, the physical products are only one part of the conversation with the customer. The salesperson may also use a laptop, technical documentation, a product configurator or additional digital materials.
For this reason, a presentation case – most commonly a soft case – can be designed with a dedicated laptop pocket alongside the foam insert containing cut-outs for switches, plugs, cables or other components.
This combines physical product samples and the tools required for the presentation in one mobile kit. Instead of carrying several separate bags, the salesperson has one organised sales demo case designed around the way they actually work.
| Type of case | Key features | Products typically presented | Typical application |
|---|---|---|---|
| Soft case with foam | Lightweight, mobile, flexible construction | Cable trunking, sockets, switches, plugs, cables, system components | Mobile sales kits, larger product sets, presentations with an additional laptop pocket |
| Plastic case with foam | Technical appearance, organised, suitable for intensive use | Sockets, switches, frames, underfloor systems, surge protection products, technical components | Presentations for installers, distributors and technical customers |
| Aluminium case with foam or internal mounting system | Precise internal construction, potential for advanced demonstration functions | Flush-mounted accessories, control systems, components requiring power, illumination or functional demonstration | Interactive presentations, mobile demonstration stations |
| Cardboard case with foam | Compact, visually coherent presentation of a product range | Switches, decorative frames, small installation accessories, colour and design variants | Presentation of selected collections, product ranges and sample sets |
Not every presentation of electrical engineering products takes place during a sales meeting. Sockets, switches, frames and other installation accessories are also selected in showrooms and retail environments, where customers should be able to view products at close range, compare several ranges and, in many cases, try the product themselves.
In these applications, the role of the mobile presentation case is taken over by product displays, countertop displays, rotating displays and wall displays, which allow products to remain permanently visible within the sales environment.
For Ospel, we produced a compact rotating display presenting three ranges of flush-mounted electrical accessories: Sonata, Impresja and Aria.
Different models of sockets and switches can be arranged on the individual sides of the display, allowing customers to compare their styling, shapes and available options without having to look through a succession of separate samples.
The rotating construction makes it possible to use several sides of a compact unit while maintaining dimensions suitable for a counter, desk or display area in a showroom. It therefore works both as a countertop display and as a small product interaction station.
An illuminated logo was incorporated into the top section, while additional lighting at the base increases the visibility of the entire presentation. One side also includes an elegant transparent leaflet holder.
The display not only organises the products but also encourages customers to approach, explore the different ranges and interact directly with the presented accessories.
For the Polish company Kanlux, we produced wall displays designed to present switches and sockets from the Mowion and Logi ranges.
The products were mounted on a white composite panel with graphics, creating a clear presentation for use at the point of sale. A moving central element provides an additional visual feature, attracts attention and encourages customers to take a closer look at the displayed accessories.
For this type of product, a wall-mounted display makes effective use of showroom space without taking up counter or floor area, while keeping selected product ranges permanently visible to customers.
In many projects for the electrical engineering industry, custom foam inserts are a key element of the solution. Their role is not limited to protecting the products: they also organise the complete set and create a clear presentation as soon as the case is opened.
Custom foam solutions can include cut-outs for sockets, switches, frames, trunking sections, cables, protective-system components and other technical products.
Our in-house capabilities allow us to carry out foam cutting and produce inserts tailored to the shape of individual products. Depending on the project, we select suitable materials and processing methods so that the insert meets both transport and presentation requirements.
Our experience shows that there is no single universal way to present electrical engineering products. The same manufacturer may use several different types of presentation cases, demonstration cases or displays depending on the product range, target audience and location where the presentation takes place.
The relatively compact size of many electrical products provides considerable freedom when designing presentation kits. The choice of solution can therefore depend on the character of the brand, the presentation concept, the way the sales team works and whether the main objective is to demonstrate product design, system construction or functionality. Different types of cases and displays are therefore not competing solutions – each can support a different way of presenting the product.
Our experience delivering projects for manufacturers of electrical installation accessories, cable management systems, electrical protection products and control solutions allows us to create cases with foam, interactive demonstration cases, product displays and other presentation tools tailored to a particular product and sales process.
Thanks to our in-house production capabilities, we can combine CNC cutting, foam processing, the production and finishing of plastic components, assembly and finishing within a single project. This allows us to develop complete solutions – from fitted inserts and internal structures to finished presentation kits.
If you are looking for a solution for presenting electrical engineering products, we can design it around a specific product range, the way your sales team works or the environment in which the products will be displayed.
